| the magnificent -- and at first unexpected -- colors and juxtapositions i saw in the exuberant giclée prints and textiles (rugs and fabric) created by new york artist AMY HELFAND inspired me to make this necklace. initially their effect was jolting, but the more i worked with the individual pieces the more the delicious and very edible colors came together. to complete the picture, i nestled the colors in a garden of sterling silver twigs. now they strike me as quite natural and organic. |
